EWB-USA

Engineers Without Borders-USA was started in 2000 by Professor Bernard Amadei with the goal of creating positive change for developing communities through the combined efforts of students, faculty, professional engineers and community members. The CU chapter was the first in the organization that has now grown to include 206 chapters and 130+ projects in 34 countries, with 4000+ members.

Nepal

Since 2007, the EWB Nepal team has been working on several projects in Ilam and Godak in partnership with a local NGO, the Namsaling Community Development Center. 

Along with our technical engineering solutions, the team analyzes the sustainability and feasibility of implementing strong educational programs and projects in our future communities. This partnership of technical and educational solutions aims to promote a healthier and cleaner environment. We are currently working with the community of Hattitar in the Namsaling region to design a spring source protection and water distribution system.

Our Mission

The mission of EWB is to partner with developing communities to improve their quality of life through the implementation of environmentally sustainable, equitable, and economical engineering projects. In the process of working to advance developing communities, EWB promotes the development of globally aware and internationally responsible students and professionals.

The activities of EWB range from the construction of sustainable systems that developing communities can own and operate without external assistance, to empowering such communities by enhancing local, technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills. These projects are initiated by and completed with contributions from the host community working with our project teams.
